The day has arrived.  The 2013 Arizona Cardinals opened up their training camp today with rookies and some veterans reporting for a workout at their Tempe facility ahead of camp out in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium.  All veterans must report by Thursday.  Football is back, spread the word!!

So what veterans reported early you may ask?  Well, azcardinals.com reported quarterback Carson Palmer was one.  Also quarterback Drew Stanton arrived today, as well as tight end Jeff King.  Clearly, these guys want to get to know the playbook and put it into action.  If for nothing else, the effort and the desire are there for Cards players.  That’s the least you could ask for in a team that has had so much turnover both on the field and the sidelines.

The team will have their first full team practice in Glendale on Friday.  Many, including myself are very excited.  I expect to see big crowds out at UOP Stadium over the weekend.  It won’t be Flagstaff, that’s for sure.  Although I’d prefer the camp to be in Flag, the one amenity Flagstaff couldn’t provide is ample room for the crowd to sit.  It got a little crowded at times up on the Northern Arizona University campus.  Thank God for domed stadiums.

Welcome back to football, fans!
