Daryl Washington is an integral element to the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately for them, they will have to survive without him for some time.

According to SB Nation, Washington’s appeal of a four-game PED suspension was denied. Washington, who recorded 134 tackles in 2012, was suspended on April 3, and he will have to accept and serve his suspension. So, the Cardinals will have a temporary starter at middle linebacker.

Luckily for the team, Washington’s offseason troubles led to him being relegated to the second-team defense, so Jasper Brinkley and Kevin Minter already have experience. The two will have to step up for the Cardinals to sustain their solid defensive production.

This is a big blow, but the Cardinals have been expecting it. They have the depth to survive, so it shouldn’t be a huge blow.
