With all the movement with wide receivers not named Larry Fitzgerald this past week between the practice squad and the active roster for the Arizona Cardinals, it really comes as no surprise that Fitz did not practice on Wednesday.  There is still hope he plays though on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Head coach Bruce Arians said on Wednesday that Fitz did want to practice but he wouldn’t let him.  Smart move.  There is no reason to further aggravate a nagging injury and hamstrings can nag, especially if there is still a chance he could play on Sunday by resting him.  Even if Fitz doesn’t play on Sunday, the Cards have prepared well for his absence.

Kerry Taylor came off the practice squad this past Sunday against the Detroit Lions and grabbed three catches for 40 yards.  Then yesterday they signed Dan Buckner to the practice squad.  If this weekend they decide there is a chance Fitz will be out on Sunday, I would not be surprised to see someone like Buckner signed to the roster.  We’ll see.

For now, we will wait and see what the injury report says on Friday.  My best guess is Fitz will be questionable again and it will be a gameday decision on whether he is active against the Saints or not.
