The Arizona Cardinals defensive line will not be in Tampa, Florida today preparing for tomorrow’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Today, they will be in Memphis, Tennessee supporting their teammate, nose tackle Dan Williams, who’s father died in an auto accident last weekend.

Williams’ father was driving to New Orelans from Jackson, Mississippi to watch his son play last weekend.  Now Williams, who will miss tomorrow’s game against the Bucs, is saying goodbye to his father today in Memphis.

The entire defensive line will fly to Tampa after a walk-through practice and then will re-join the team this evening for team meetings ahead of tomorrow’s game.  Defensive end Calais Campbell said the unit are “brothers”.   I wouldn’t expect anything less, however it is awesome to see the unity amongst teammates, especially in a time of need such as this.  Clearly chemistry isn’t an issue with the Cards defensive line.  It is very touching to see teammates supporting each other like that.  To me, it is a sign of team unity.  On the field they may have not played to standards we would like to this point but at least we have no worries about what is going on behind closed doors.

God speed to Dan Williams and his family and to the safe travels of the defensive line today.
