The Arizona Cardinals will be without the services of running back Andre Ellington.  However, not even the lack of services from Ellington will get running back Ryan Williams on the field.  Once again, he is inactive.  It boggles the mind.

This means get ready to see a lot of Rashard Mendenhall and most likely Stepfan Taylor in spots.  This could be the game Mendenhall makes or breaks his season and could find a home in Arizona again next season.

As for Ellington, he will miss his first game of the season.  It comes as little surprise.  It had been reported all week that he would be a game time decision.  It is unfortunate that this comes about in a huge road game for the Cardinals on December 1st.

This might also be a spot for Alfonso Smith to do some damage.  He really hasn’t done much since early in the season against the Saints.  In the end, it will need to be a team effort though to pull this one off in Philadelphia.  Their defense is hot right now.  Deciding not to play Ellington today though may pay dividends down the stretch.  They will need him if they want any chance of grabbing a playoff spot.
