Everyone and their mother it seems has an idea what the Arizona Cardinals should do with their first round pick. So many mock drafts, so many so-called “experts”. The fact is only the Cards know what they plan on doing and what strategy they’ll take in May’s draft. Even so, they may not have solidified their plans yet. In fact, I’d bank on it.
If you ask on expert he’ll tell you they should go offensive line. Another thinks that the Cards should go tight end (which is where I’m leaning). Another thinks they should draft their future quarterback. I don’t think there’s a wrong answer. Well, unless you say kicker or punter. If you say that, please turn in your football fandom card right now.
The fact is, the Cards will probably go with the best player available. I’m not even here to debate who that may or may not be right now. There is plenty of time for that. Lately though, I’ve seen the draft talk heat up with Cards fans. I do believe the Cards end up with a quarterback. My best guess is though not in the first round. I think they are willing to ride the arm of Carson Palmer for at least 2014 and maybe 2015 depending on how things fall. Again, that is just my best guess.
I think they should draft a tackle, a tight end, a wide receiver, and a quarterback if he is in the middle rounds. After that, wide open. However the Cards will draft the best guy available. If he happens to be a cornerback or linebacker, they’ll take him. Ask me next week, I might have a different answer for you. Everyone does.
