With the final pick the Arizona Cardinals possessed in day two of the 2014 NFL Draft, they selected wide receiver John Brown from Pittsburg State with the 91st overall pick.  The Cardinals went small school to round out the second of their two-third round picks.

Brown is a speedster, plain and simple.  He is considered someone who would be good for the punt return game. He has great athleticism and has great ability to stop and start.  He had three punt returns and two kick returns during his time at Pittsburg State.  He also had 34 receiving and six rushing touchdowns.  That gives him 45 career touchdowns.

The biggest knocks on him are to do with his size.  He is lean and small.  So the ability to be physical is in question.  He doesn’t have much blocking ability but clearly this was a pick for speed and athleticism.  A projected fifth or sixth round pick.  Look for him on special teams this fall.
