The Arizona Cardinals will head to Jerry’s house in Texas week nine to face the predictable Dallas Cowboys, predicted to be 500 again as they have for the last two seasons. The Cowboys and Cardinals have had some exciting games played in the new millennium, as every Cards fan can appreciate the block punt win in the 08 run, and the Kevin Kolb overtime screen to Larod Stephens-Howling in 2011.
With the exception of last year for the Red-Birds, the past few years for both teams have been a bit of a struggle, and playing each other it was usually an even match-up.
That may not be the case this time as the Cardinals seem to be light years ahead of “Americas favorite team” as a cohesive unit that has a plan for it’s destination. With the Cowboys you just never know what your going to get, but in this game it will be a lot of offense from both quarterback’s passing game. Both Carson Palmer and Tony Romo are prone for throwing the game losing interception.
This game will simply be decided in that category, the quarterback position, which one of these guys will not make the big mistake to cost his team the win. Its no secrete that Carson Palmer was tops in picks last year with 27, and Romo again threw a game losing pick twice in games the Cowboys should have won.
These offense’s are built to go down field and which ever teams defense can force that game losing pick will win, and in this case the Cardinals will certainly have the advantage. Their secondary featuring Patrick Peterson, Antonio Cromartie,Tyrann Mathieu, Jerraud Powers and others are pretty good cover guys.
Look for the Cardinals defense to force that pick with pressure up front and a few Mathieu blitzes from the free safety position, remember its the quick “hot read” off the blitz that Romo throws his patented losing interceptions, and the Cards defense under Todd Bowles blitz more than any team in the NFL.
The Cards improve to 5-3 getting their third road win and already have two home losses.
