As the Arizona Cardinals finish off the off-season in preparation for the start of training camp on July 25th in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium, we are going to take a look at the team roster from A to Z as it currently stands. Next up is defensive tackle Bruce Gaston.
2013 season: Gaston was at Purdue. Gaston is a very good tackler but has been known to lack power in his legs in order to drive others back. He had 48 tackles and three sacks.
2014 season: Jury is out on Gaston. Can he help the Cards defensive line? Sure, maybe. I think he’s going to be a backup at best. This is the NFL. The lack of strength in the lower body to me is concerning when it comes to the NFL. He might have gotten away with it at Purdue but these are the big boys. He seems to have the intangibles to be a part-time player but I think lacks a consistent big-play mentality.
