Arizona Cardinals Roster Profile: Andre Hardy

As the Arizona Cardinals finish off the off-season in preparation for the start of training camp on July 25th in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium, we are going to take a look at the team roster from A to Z as it currently stands.  Next up is tight end Andre Hardy.

2013 season: He was out of football.  Most recently had been with the Oakland Raiders.

2014: The story of Andre Hardy is a special one to me.  He is a basketball player trying to make it as a tight end in the NFL.  The Raiders gave him a shot in 2012 but was ultimately released.  He played two seasons of basketball at Oral Roberts and his last two at Cal-State Fullerton.  He last played organized football in high school.  You can’t help but root for a guy like this.  Unfortunately is trying to compete at a position where the Cards seem to have enough viable bodies ahead of him on the depth chart.  Never say never but I think this opportunity is nothing more than a tryout for maybe another team.
