Arizona Cardinals Roster Profile: Eddie Whitley

As the Arizona Cardinals are in preparation for the season with training camp now in full swing in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium, we are taking a look at the team roster from A to Z as it currently stands.  Next up is cornerback Eddie Whitley.

2013 season: Whitley has bounced around a number of teams since joining the league out of Virginia Tech in 2012.  He spent training camp in 2013 with the Philadelphia Eagles before being released at the end of August.

2014 season: Whitley joined the Cards in April but honestly I can’t find a scenario short of catastrophic injuries to the defensive backfield where Whitley is a member of this roster past next week’s initial cuts.  He had two tackles in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings this past Saturday, however he’s third on the depth chart at left corner behind Patrick Peterson and Justin Bethel.  That doesn’t bode well for a guy playing behind that depth.
