Just one day after making the final 53-man roster, the Arizona Cardinals waived wide receiver Walt Powell in order to make room for outside linebacker Thomas Keiser.  Interesting move considering this leaves just five receivers on the active roster.

After the final receiver position came down to Powell and Brittan Golden, it seemed pretty clear the Cards were set with going with six receivers, as many had predicted in the preseason.  However, the Cards are always looking for depth at linebacker.

Keiser, just released by the San Diego Chargers on Saturday in final cuts, initially started last season on the practice squad but did make it to the active roster to register 21 tackles and 4.5 sacks and one interception.  Known as a good defender on the edges, he spent much of his time fighting the depth chart in San Diego.  He may end up doing the same in Arizona but at least he has a job, for now.
