The Arizona Cardinals have added six more players officially to the practice squad Sunday afternoon. It was also reported earlier that cornerback Anthony Gaitor was headed to the Cards as well but the team has not officially added him to the practice squad as of yet.
LB Jonathan Brown, WR Brittan Golden, TE Andre Hardy, CB Jimmy Legree, T Kelvin Palmer, and OL Anthony Steen.
Golden, Hardy, Legree and Steen are not that much of a surprise. All six of these players were just released by the Cards in the final cuts on Saturday. Golden was in a position battle with Walt Powell for the final receiver spot, however Powell was just released this afternoon, leaving five receivers on the active roster. This could mean next guy up will be Golden.
Legree and Steen both had decent preseason’s, so they will be nice additions for depth purposes should something happen to anyone on the 53-man roster. Hardy was the fifth tight end on the depth chart but given the inconsistencies of Rob Housler and previous injury to Troy Niklas and history of John Carlson, adding a tight end to the practice squad was a smart move.
