The Arizona Cardinals defeated the San Diego Chargers 18-17 in a come from behind victory Monday night at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. Here are my game balls for the offense, defense, and special teams.
Offensive game ball: Cards quarterback Carson Palmer. He went 24-37 for 304 yards and two touchdowns, no interceptions. He went 12-13 in the two fourth-quarter touchdown drives. That is a real NFL quarterback. Yes he made a couple of boneheaded plays but in the end he did what he needed to do. He also rushed for 29 yards with a couple of scrambles.
Defensive game ball: Cards linebacker Larry Foote. The man was all over the field on Monday night. He ended up with a team-high eight tackles, two of them for a loss and one pass defensed. A great start to his Cards career.
Special teams game ball: Chargers linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu. I had to give it up to him for his beautiful looking punt block of Cards punter Drew Butler.
