The Arizona Cardinals signed one of their training camp players to the practice squad on Tuesday. Cornerback Teddy Williams, who converted from wide receiver, made a return to the team that just cut him at the end of the preseason.
Williams was amongst the team’s final cuts after the loss to the San Diego Chargers in the preseason finale. Quite frankly I didn’t think he looked that great but the Cards have decided to re-add him.
Williams was a receiver with the Cards last season before getting injured and going on injured reserve right after making a couple of great contributions to the offense. He originally started on defense before he was converted to offense. The Cards must be concerned about depth at the position to re-add another cornerback, albeit the practice squad. Williams, out of the University of Texas-San Antonio, is in his third season. He played in three games for the Cards in 2013.
