As the Arizona Cardinals (1-0) prepare to go back east and play the New York Giants on Sunday morning, they released their injury report for Thursday’s practice. And yes, running back Andre Ellington is on it.
Ellington, along with defensive tackle Frostee Rucker and linebacker Alex Okafor did not practice on Thursday. Rucker left Monday night’s victory over the San Diego Chargers. Ellington is going to be given as much rest as possible in between games, as it should be. He rushed 13 times for 53 yards and had five receptions for 27 yards on Monday night.
Punter Dave Zastudil, guard Paul Fanaika, and quarterback Carson Palmer were limited in practice on Thursday. Safety Rashad Johnson, who had an interception on Monday night, was upgraded to full participation in practice. Zastudil was limited to holding for kicker Chandler Catanzaro. Drew Butler punted in his place on Monday night. So, nothing Earth-shattering to report. No new bad news, so for today we take it!
