The Arizona Cardinals defense came in and got its job done on the first drive of the second half but then the lax Cards secondary got the best of them on the second drive and allowed the New York Giants to drive into Cards territory.  They ended up punting.  Then it started going all downhill for the Cards.

The Cards defense has been unable to stop Giants quarterback Eli Manning.  Manning is 19-23 for 218 yards and two touchdowns.  The only pass defensed all day was the interception.  The other three incompletions were over throws by Manning.

Cornerback Patrick Peterson had a couple of calls go against him.  The first one was ridiculous.  Peterson barely touched the receiver.  The second penalty, a pass interference, was blatant and put the Giants first and goal at the one.  Two plays later Manning found receiver Rueben Randle in the back of the end zone for the touchdown.

The Cards have done nothing on offense since the first quarter.  This was what I was afraid of seeing even before quarterback Carson Palmer was ruled out of this game.  The Cards are going to have to dig down deep in the fourth to come away with a victory.  This is not the cake walk many expected and I warned people against all week long.  The Giants aren’t as bad as people make them out to be.
