Update #3 – Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer, who was arrested this afternoon for aggravated assault and preventing someone from calling 911, has now been de-activated by the team according to Jane McManus, ESPN New York reporter.  The victim is his wife and the incident allegedly happened “awhile” ago, although no specific timeframe was provided.  Apparently his wife kept records of what happened.

No other updates or statements were made available by the Cardinals but this was the quick action I was referring to and hoping for earlier.  The Cards had no other choice once the arrest was official to act on his status.  Hopefully we will hear more from the Cards on this very soon.

So now this leaves the Cards a void at running back.  So be it.  This was a must move and I applaud the Cards.  For now, we will wait for the Cards to come out with something official.  Once a statement is made, we will share it.
