If Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer ever steps on an NFL football field again I will be the most amazed person on the field if what is contained in the police report is true.  Details in the police report have been released and it isn’t pretty.

July 21st Dwyer and his wife got into an altercation because she refused him sex.  He head-butted his wife and when 911 was called by those who could hear the argument inside their home, the police came and his wife answered the door.  She denied he was there.  In reality, he was hiding in the bathroom.  She told police at the time she was arguing with him but over the phone.

July 22nd Dwyer allegedly punched his wife in the face.  He also threw a shoe at his 18-month old child but the child was not injured.  For his part Dwyer acknowledged the events but denied ever hitting or injuring his wife or child.  He did admit to punching holes in the walls and throwing his wife’s cell phone out the door.

His wife and child have left the state in fear for their safety.  She filed the report on September 11th and then Phoenix Police did their investigation.  She came forward because Dwyer texted her saying he was going to kill himself and texted a picture of a knife.  He also threatened to kill himself if she said anything to police when the incident initially took place.

The report just makes me sick.  You want to believe it isn’t true but there is no reason not to believe something happened.  To what extent we will wait to be proven in court.  Right now as it stands though, even though Dwyer was asked this morning is he will ever play again and he said “yes” my answer to the Cardinals and the rest of the NFL is a resounding “no”.  If convicted, he can never be able to step foot on a football field again.
