When it went practically the entire training camp without being discussed only to have a surprise on the week one injury report, many feared the worst for Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington. However, through three games, so far so good.
Some have stated the saw a little timidness the first two weeks of the season. I didn’t see it then and I didn’t see it this past Sunday in the 23-14 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Ellington has looked just fine. Whether he actually feels fine, he hasn’t said one way or another but if he is in any pain, it doesn’t show.
Here is Ellington’s box score from the first three weeks:
vs. San Diego Chargers: 13-53 yards rushing, 5-27 yards receiving
vs. New York Giants: 15-91 rushing, 1-10 receiving
vs San Francisco 49ers: 18-62 rushing, 3-13 receiving
He did drop a pass that could have been caught against the Niners but overall is producing with the exceptions of getting into the end zone. However, the Cards aren’t looking at Ellington in the red zone. He’ll eventually get there. For now, we should all be pleased with what you are getting out of him production wise.
