With three-fourths of the NFC West off including the Arizona Cardinals, that leaves only the San Francisco 49ers with the chance to move up or down in the standings this weekend.  They face the Philadelphia Eagles tomorrow in Santa Clarita at Levi’s Stadium. It will be their first meeting since week four of the 2011 season.

Many consider that Niners 24-23 win in Philadelphia as the start to their run of greatness in the NFC West and the NFL.  Since then they have had three straight NFC Championship appearances and one Super Bowl.  The irony isn’t lost that it could be the Eagles that could help propel the Niners back in the other direction this weekend.

Cardinals fans should watch this one carefully.  A loss by the Niners puts them at 1-3 and 2 and a half games behind the Cards in the standings and could really start rumblings in the Bay Area.   A win can put the Niners right back in the the thick of things.
