The Arizona Cardinals started off the game looking like they might get a touchdown on the first drive. Then they made mistakes and and had to settle for a field goal, again. Then the Denver Broncos ended up going down the field to get a touchdown on their first drive.
The Cards had a first and goal at the nine yard line but lost a chance to score a touchdown on a Rob Housler drop. Why the Cards continue to incorporate him in the offense is beyond me? After losing some yardage, they had to settle for a Chandler Catanzaro field goal to put the Cards up 3-0.
It ended up biting the Cards quickly. Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning wasted little time in getting his 500th touchdown pass to none other than a tight end. Broncos tight end Julius Thomas, who I identified earlier as a key to stopping, caught the milestone pass.
The Cards ended up going down the field and getting another Catanzaro field goal. He is now 11-11 for the season. I think the Cards have themselves a kicker. What they do need is to find a way to get plays off on time. They used all of their timeouts in the first quarter.
