No Coincidence Two Arizona Cardinals Had “Best” Games

The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Dallas Cowboys 28-17 on Sunday in Arlington, Texas

The Arizona Cardinals are 7-1 after defeating the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.  Many people though will give you their opinion that the Cardinals aren’t doing it by blowing people away and aren’t doing it with a complete team effort.  Some guys who have been counted on have not been playing well.

Two of those players, defensive tackle Dan Williams and cornerback Patrick Peterson, can be included in that discussion. Yesterday after the game I wrote that it was about time we heard from Williams.  We’ve been waiting for him to break out and be dominant.  He showed some of that potential for the first time really on Sunday.

Williams had a huge third down sack of Cowboys quarterback Brandon Weeden.  He finished with a game-high seven tackles.  Coach Bruce Arians today said he had his “best day as a Cardinal.”  It is obvious.

As for Peterson, Arians said he had his best game in a long time.  Again, that’s a true statement.  Peterson has struggled.  He’s gotten frustrated by calls going against him.  He does not have any interceptions this season to date.

However on Sunday he shut Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant down.  Bryant only had two receptions, both late in the game and a touchdown, also very late in the game.  Peterson clearly frustrated Bryant all day.  Peterson was flagged for one interference call which was iffy and it was a penalty that was called late and one vehemently begged for by Bryant.  Peterson was calm about it though.  He’s voiced his opinion loudly about those in past weeks.

The trick now is to be consistent.  I want to hear their names for all the right reasons over the next eight weeks.
