The Arizona Cardinals are 7-1 and have the best record in the NFL at the halfway point of the season for the first time since 1974

We’ve reached the halfway point of the season and some of the contenders and pretenders are already starting to sort themselves out.  The Arizona Cardinals are 7-1 with the best record in the NFL but many contend they are not the best team in the NFL.

As far as our rankings go, the Cardinals have done enough for at least this week to earn the top spot in our NFL Power Rankings.  There were six teams on byes this week.  These NFL Power Rankings reflect how they stand today in raisingzona.com’s eyes.

The NFL Power Rankings now have their third number one team in the past three weeks.  Things are changing that quick this year.   The question is how long does this week’s number one team keep the spot?  Next week’s number one team in the NFL Power Rankings could be one of several teams if the Cards falter.

30. The Jets may be the worst team after all.  There is just chaos it seems on the field at times.  They allowed a tight end sitting on his rear end to score a touchdown Sunday. (1-8). Previous: 29th. New York Jets. 32. team

Oakland Raiders. 31. team. 28. The Raiders gave it a good try on Sunday in Seattle, falling just short.  Good special teams play almost pulled off the upset. (0-8). Previous: 31st

Jacksonville Jaguars. 30. team. 52. The Jaguars made it interesting late but again their defense lets them down. (1-8). Previous: 30th

Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 29. team. 48. The Bucs played decent on Sunday.  It was a game all the way till the end.  They might figure this thing out.. (1-7). Previous: 32nd

(2-6). Previous: 28th. Atlanta Falcons. 28. team. 44. The Falcons didn’t have to worry about losing to a delay of game penalty this week as they were on the bye Sunday

30. The Titans had time to take some selfies during their bye week Sunday. (2-6). Previous: 29th. Tennessee Jets. 27. team
