Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald Making His Move

Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald had another nine receptions for 112 yards in Sunday’s victory over the St. Louis Rams

The Arizona Cardinals have started to find receiver Larry Fitzgerald again on a consistent basis.  He had another good game this week against the Rams with his nine receptions.  With the loss of quarterback Carson Palmer for the season, I do not expect his production to drop.

Larry Fitzgerald now has 44 receptions for 625 and two touchdowns on the season.  In the last three games Fitz has 21 receptions for 342 yards and one touchdown.  At that pace he could finish between 90-100 receptions over 1,000 yards receiving.  There should be no worry about dropoff.  Quarterback Drew Stanton found him times against the New York Giants, although just three times against the San Francisco 49ers.

In the three earlier games this season that Stanton started, Fitz was targeted 24 times.  Suffice it to say Stanton has not forgotten who he is.  It will be up to Fitz to help him out and make himself available for throws.

There’s no denying that Fitz had a good rapport with Palmer but there’s no reason to believe it won’t continue with Stanton.  Now Stanton has found a nice thing with receiver John Brown.  He threw this third touchdown pass of the season to Brown on Sunday in relief of Palmer.

Hopefully Fitz can find the end zone a little more over the last seven games.  I know a lot of people look at that statistic and if it isn’t a big number, they think he’s had a down season.  Just look at the overall picture.  Everything is going to be fine there.
