The Arizona Cardinals worked a couple of guys out at running back and have signed the former Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears running back
Talk about an indictment on your running game. The Arizona Cardinals today signed former Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears running back Michael Bush. He has not played at all in 2014. To make room, the Cardinals released running back Kerwynn Williams.

There has no been hiding the fact that the lack of practice during the week has hurt starting running back Andre Ellington. Running back Stepfan Taylor has been alright but he had a calf injury that he just returned from last week. That was an injury once thought that might keep him out a couple of months.
As for Bush, it is a little bit of a surprise move. Does this say to fans and the team that maybe the running woes are not entirely the fault of the offensive line? He last played in 2013 as a backup in Chicago. He carried the ball 63 times for 197 yards and three touchdowns.
In six seasons Bush has rushed for 3,250 yards on 809 carries. That is a 4.0 yards-per-carry average. Not bad. It is better than what the Cardinals have done so far this season at 3.1 yards-per-carry, worst in the NFL.
We’ll see how long it takes for Bush to get up to speed but I’ll bet the farm he gets some snaps this weekend against the Atlanta Falcons. I don’t think he’s going to come in and be a world beater but the Cardinals had to try something. Time to give Michael Bush a try. Next man up.
