Welcome Back To Expectations For Cardinals WR Michael Floyd

The question will be is this showing to little to late for Arizona Cardinals Wide receiver Michael Floyd.

The performance that Michael Floyd put on in San Francisco 49ers was more like what all Cardinals fans had in mind for him on the field. The 2014 season has been nothing short of a disappointment considering the high expectations on him before the year began. For some reason or another Floyd seemed to have gotten lost through the quarterback carrousel, and has looked almost non-existent for most of the season.

More from Cardinals News

There is definitely something about the 49ers that gets Floyd going. In week three against the 49ers defense he had 5 rec for 114 yards which is good but not great. He also had another two touchdown outing against the Lions but those were his only two catches for 54 yards, again ok, but not great.

Sunday’s performance looked more like great, and like the receiver that will soon be the number one option in the offense. Floyd dominated the 49ers DB’s and what made it even more impressive is that he did it with a third string QB in Ryan Lindley.

Chemistry is everything in the passing game and with Fitzgerald getting block duty, Floyd would have to be the one to finally look the part of a serious threat receiver and step up his game.

His 8 rec for 153 yards and 2 exciting touchdown grabs are by far his best performance as a pro, and hopefully more to come in the post season and next year.

The Carolina Panthers will have to look at this performance and hope that Floyd does not bring it like that, if he does, and along with the defense of three to four weeks ago, the Cardinals may be able to advance to the next round of the post season.
