Some Super Bowl events have already taken place but majority will take place next week starting this Saturday

The Arizona Cardinals are the host team for this year’s Super Bowl in Glendale.  Unfortunately the Cardinals didn’t advance far enough and the game itself will pit the New England Patriots vs the Seattle Seahawks.  There are plenty of events in and around Phoenix though to whet your appetite.

More from Cardinals News

The game itself will cost you a pretty penny.  The kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. on Sunday February 1st at University of Phoenix Stadium.  Depending on who you go through, tickets will be expensive.  StubHub’s cheapest offering right now is $2319 per ticket.

There are events though leading up to the event that Cardinals and NFL fans can enjoy at a much cheaper rate.

The NFL Experience begins this Saturday January 24th through Sunday February 1st at the Phoenix Convention Center.  Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children under 12 years of age.  Children under two are free.

The 2015 Pro Bowl will take place this Sunday January 25th at University of Phoenix Stadium.  Prices start at $35.

The 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open starts on Monday January 26th with practice sessions, Wednesday January 28th for the Pro-Am, and the tournament itself from Thursday January 29th through Sunday February 1st.  Tiger Woods has announced he will play in the event for the first time in 13 years.

The Pro-Am will also be star-filled.  ESPN’s Chris Berman and Ron Jaworski will be there.  Representing your Arizona Cardinals will be receiver Larry Fitzgerald, head coach Bruce Arians, and cornerback Patrick Peterson.  Former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher and recently elected to the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame Randy Johnson will also play.  Current Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Josh Collmenter will play as well.

Some other celebrities that will play include SEC analyst and former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, former all-pro quarterback Jim McMahon, current Ohio State football head coach Urban Meyer, former NBA great Julius Erving, former MLB star Ken Griffey Jr, country music stars Dierks Bentley and Jake Owen, and former NFL great Emmitt Smith.

Super Bowl XLIX Media Day takes place on Tuesday January 27th at US Airways Center in downtown Phoenix.  Tickets are relatively cheap for this event.  They are $28.50.  Tickets are limited but at last check they were some still available.

Verizon Super Bowl Central takes place from Wednesday January 28th until Sunday February 1st Downtown Phoenix.  It is a family-friendly outdoor event.
