The Arizona Cardinals this week announced their offseason schedule this past week on azcardinals.com.  They can start with strength and conditioning on April 20th.

The interesting tidbit about April 20th though is no other coaches can be on the field with the players other than the strength and conditioning coaches.  The rest of the coaching staff can join players on the field for non-contact practice on May 4th.

Of course there is the NFL Draft which will take place on April 30th-May 2nd in Chicago.  The Cardinals have the 24th pick in the first round.  They also get to select Mr. Irrelevant, the last pick in the draft.  So if you’re a huge fan of the Cardinals and the draft as a whole, then you should stay tuned for the draft in its entirety.  There is a draft party at University of Phoenix Stadium.

After the draft you want to see what the rookies who were drafted plus the rookie free agents can do?  They take the field on May 8th-10th.  After the rookie minicamp the rest of the OTA’s and minicamps will include the entire roster.

OTA’s are scheduled for May 19th-21st, May 26th-28th, and June 1st-4th.  There will also be a team minicamp from June 9th-11th.  Helmet’s will be allowed.  After that the next time the Cardinals take the practice field will be at University of Phoenix Stadium for training camp.

Other important dates include April 23rd when the team conducts its annual charity golf tournament at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler.  There is also the NFL schedule release, presumably sometime here in April.  No announcement has been made yet and I wouldn’t expect one until just before that event.

After the minicamp in June its the last downtime for players and coaches until the start of training camp.  No official date has been announced for training camp yet but it is just a little more than three months away.  The Cardinals last game was three months ago.  We are almost halfway between the end of 2014 and the start of training camp.  Time is flying.

The next month should be very exciting not only for the schedule, draft, and practices, but there are still trade rumors out there not to mention still other free agents that could be signed.
