Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer Workout Participant

The Arizona Cardinals had a one hour workout at their Tempe headquarters this morning

It was just a one-hour non-contact workout but it beats the alternative.  Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer participated in a workout this morning with the current players under contract.  Rookies don’t arrive until late in the week for mini-camp.

Palmer was wearing a knee brace but reports by azcardinals.com’s Darren Urban are everything went well with throwing passes around.  It is surely a great sign that he is progressing just as he told us a few weeks ago.

The availability of Palmer for upcoming OTA’s and mini-camps are unknown but he threw to his offensive weapons today away from any possible defenders.  The real test will be when he takes the field for the first time and has to take contact.

We don’t know what that will happen yet.  Of course we remember the torn ACL he suffered just under six months ago against the St. Louis Rams.  For him to be where he is at now after just roughly six months is amazing.

Palmer and coach Bruce Arians have said they hope he is back for training camp and depending on how things go, could be a participant in OTA’s or mini-camps but that is still to be determined.  Personally, I think they are better off just taking it slow and have him ready for camp in a couple of months in Glendale.

Fans are excited it seems though to see this happening and why not. Remember the days when you couldn’t even entertain someone coming back from such an injury for 10-12 months?

We’ll take what we can get.  There is still four months before the start of the season and that’s the end goal.  Carson Palmer starting the season under center is what we all want and days like today is what gives us more confidence that it will happen.
