2014 season: Brooks arrives to the Cardinals as a cornerback who had three interceptions at Adams State last season. He also had three interceptions the year before as well.
2015 season projection: He’s currently third on the depth chart at right cornerback. He will have a tough time cracking the final roster. Basically he will have to be darn near perfect and play lights out in the preseason to even have a chance to be a backup. In other words, play well and maybe you’ll catch someone else’s eye.
The corner position is considered thin by many and that is mainly due to the departure of Antonio Cromartie. There is also a belief out there that Jerraud Powers and Justin Bethel aren’t ready to take the reins as a starter. However they have the experience and know the tools necessary to be successful in the NFL.
This isn’t to say Brooks can’t make it. Who knows, he could surprise? However it will be quite the uphill climb for him. We wish him all the luck in the world.
