By Scott Allen

Player profile of WR Michael Floyd as Arizona Cardinals training camp starts July 31st
As we prepare for Arizona Cardinals training camp reporting date of July 31st, it is time for our annual look at the roster player by player. I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.
We go from A to Z and continue with WR Michael Floyd. Floyd enters his fourth season in the NFL with the Cardinals.

2014 season: People began to start wondering if there was something wrong with Floyd. After a 2013 season of 65 catches, 1,041 yards, and five touchdowns he only had 47 receptions for 841 yards and six touchdowns. He did have that one more touchdown but he was less active. Eight of his receptions and 153 his yards last season came in the last game of the season at the San Francisco 49ers.
2015 season projection: Assuming he is still with the Cardinals when camp breaks, as there have been trade rumors, then Floyd has to go in as the number one option. He is a deep threat and still has great speed. He is going to have to earn that number one distinction though. If he isn’t performing, then I can easily see him ending up in coach Bruce Arians doghouse and sitting on the sidelines. The Cardinals did recently pick up the option year on his contract.
Earlier this week I wrote about why I like John Brown at his WR50 ADP over Michael Floyd (WR31): https://t.co/gxDyFTOAhM

Floyd will need that breakout season to stick around for awhile. There should be no reason that Floyd’s name should be coming up in trade rumors at this point in his career. If he can get back to his 2013 number and quite frankly he can do better than that, then I think all that talk about trades will go to sleep. For now, let’s just assume he will give us that breakout season.
