Player profile of WR Brittan Golden as Arizona Cardinals training camp starts July 31st

As we prepare for Arizona Cardinals training camp reporting date of July 31st, it is time for our annual look at the roster player by player.  I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.

We go from A to Z and continue with WR Brittan Golden.  Golden joins the Cardinals for the third season.

More from Cardinals News

2014 season: Brittan Golden did not play during the 2014 season.  The Cardinals released him towards the end of training camp.  He was re-signed in December to the active roster however did not get into any games.  He caught four passes for 136 yards for the Cardinals during the 2013 regular season.

2015 season projection: Golden has shown flashes of brilliance and then seems to disappear afterwards.  I thought he had a decent chance to make the final roster last season but it was not to be.  He got hurt after his short stint of success in the 2013 season.  I’m good with giving Golden a slight chance to make the roster if the Cardinals decide to keep five or six receivers.  They went with four much of the season last year.

Special teams could be an in for Golden as well.  The kick return and punt return game is very much in question right now.  The Cardinals even hinted at giving Patrick Peterson a shot at one or both at some point in camp.  They haven’t ruled it out.  J.J. Nelson has been linked to being the eventual kick returner because of speed but Golden has speed as well.  So we’ll see what happens there.
