Player profile of RB Paul Lasike as Arizona Cardinals training camp starts July 31st
As we prepare for Arizona Cardinals training camp reporting date of July 31st, it is time for our annual look at the roster player by player. I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.
We go from A to Z and continue with RB Paul Lasike. Lasike is an undrafted rookie out of Brigham Young University.
2014 season: Lasike, a former Rugby player from New Zealand, carried the ball 79 times for 364 yards and seven touchdowns for the BYU Cougars. He also caught 25 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns.
2015 season projection: Tough call. I like what he brings to the table on paper but I think he will be in a fight for a spot. Who would he replace? We know Andre Ellington, David Johnson, Stepfan Taylor, and Robert Hughes aren’t going anywhere. Maybe he can inch out Marion Grice or Kerwynn Williams for a final running back spot but I think that it is doubtful he beats either of those guys out, at least from my view at this point.
Great Interview on BYU Sportsnation with Paul Lasike today. I'm really cheering for him to make it on the Cardinals. https://t.co/4rw8LzvkMu

I won’t completely rule Lasike out. He is another back that can run and catch the ball. As far as I’m concerned you can never have enough of those guys but Ellington, Johnson, and Taylor are all good at those things too. Maybe that’s what will give him in an edge in camp over guys like Grice and Williams?
