Player profile of OLB Kareem Martin as Arizona Cardinals training camp starts July 31st

As we prepare for Arizona Cardinals training camp reporting date of July 31st, it is time for our annual look at the roster player by player.  I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.

We go from A to Z and continue with OLB Kareem Martin.  Martin enters his second season with the Cardinals.

2014 season: Martin played in 11 games his rookie season with the Cardinals.  He started two of those games. he had eight tackles, one forced fumble, and one pass defensed.

2015 season projection: Martin is definitely in the mix this season.  I would expect more out of him.  I don’t know if he’s reached full-time starter status yet.  He only played in 11 of the 16 games last season.  His playing time came sparingly.

Martin has a few guys to compete against.  There are six outside linebackers on the current 90-man roster and all of them have a shot at making the final roster.  I can’t guarantee he will make the final cuts given the competition.  He can also played defensive end, so there is a better chance than not there is a spot for him at the end of camp.  This just proves once again how important it is to have a good camp and not just mail it in. It doesn’t matter who you are you on this roster.  Coach Bruce Arians doesn’t give any positions away.
