Cornerback

The battle here is going to be on the opposite side of Patrick Peterson.  Who is going to replace Antonio Cromartie?  Will it be fourth-year cornerback Justin Bethel, who has really shined more on special teams than in the defensive backfield.  Or will it be Jerraud Powers, who is coming into his seventh NFL season?

The experts are mixed on this one.  So am I.  In one corner you have Bethel, who I think has paid his dues and should be given a chance.  Now, not given the job, but given a real chance to break that starting lineup.  As for Powers though, I really liked what I saw out of him last season.

Yes, both of them had their moments of greatness and let downs last year but that is football.  I thought Powers was better than Peterson last year.  How does that translate to this year though?  I think either way whoever doesn’t win the competition I will think of that guy as the Cardinals are lucky to have both on the roster.

Next: Up to six guys fighting for one or two spots?
