Arizona Cardinals from A to Z: Josh Mauro
By Scott Allen

Player profile of DE Josh Mauro as Arizona Cardinals training camp has opened
As we have reached the Arizona Cardinals training camp, it is time to continue our annual look at the roster player by player. I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.
We go from A to Z and continue with DE Josh Mauro. Mauro is in his second season out of Stanford.
2014 season: Mauro played in five games for the Cardinals last season. He started two of them. He wasn’t extremely active as he ended up with five tackles and one pass defensed. The Cardinals signed him back in November after injuries had started to pile on.
2015 season projection: Mauro does have the regular season experience under his belt, so he does have that going for him. He does have Calais Campbell and possibly Kareem Martin in front of him depending on where they ultimately play Martin. Rookie Rodney Gunter is also there, considered a steal in the third-round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He’s a guy that’s going to be on the bubble.
Incase you forgot, Josh Mauro is pretty good. Former Texas football player @LDBellFootball https://t.co/KjTe1Mxowe pic.twitter.com/S12NjY8t5e

It appears he was liked by some when he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers last year in training camp before being cut at the end of the preseason. He had to have made an impression on someone to stay with the team into camp this year. He would be a good guy to have for depth but I’m just not sold on him being a full-time starter, at least with the Cardinals.
