Arizona Cardinals from A to Z: Kevin Minter

Player profile of ILB Kevin Minter as Arizona Cardinals training camp has opened
As we have reached the Arizona Cardinals training camp, it is time to continue our annual look at the roster player by player. I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.
We go from A to Z and continue with ILB Kevin Minter. Minter enters his third season with the Cardinals out of LSU.
2014 season: Minter played in all 16 games last season, starting five of them. He had 44 tackles and one sack. He certainly saw more playing time last year but he was still not as productive as many thought he would be at that point.
2015 projection: General manager Steve Keim said after last season ended it was time for Minter to step up his game. I couldn’t agree more. It is time for him to meet and exceed the expectations the Cardinals had for him when they drafted him in 2013. So far he has looked decent in camp.
ICYMI BA on Minter “Well, it’s Kevin’s job to lose when we’re in base. Now it could be Deone (Bucannon), it could be a bunch of folks."

Cards pencil in Kevin Minter as starter

#AZCardinals ILB Kevin Minter getting a lot reps with the first string defense, looking lighter from a year ago, plus he's finally healthy.

It is his job to lose no doubt. This will be a make or break year for Minter though. I really look at it as a make or break camp though. If he doesn’t leave camp as the starter he might not get the chance to get that back. I can’t see him not making the roster but stranger things have happened. It sounds like personally though he has gotten his body in shape to start at least meeting the expectations put on him two years ago.
