Arizona Cardinals from A to Z: Alex Okafor
By Scott Allen

Player profile of OLB Alex Okafor as Arizona Cardinals training camp continues
As we have reached the second week of Arizona Cardinals training camp, we continue our annual look at the roster player by player. I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.
We go from A to Z and continue with OLB Alex Okafor. Okafor is in his third season with the Cardinals out of Texas.
2014 season: Okafor really started to come into his own last season. Despite missing the first three games of the season due to injury, Okafor played in the last 13 games, starting 12 of them. He had 30 tackles and led the Cardinals with eight sacks. He also had 20 quarterback pressures and 19 quarterback hits..
2015 season projection: He will be a star in my estimation. His time is now and look for him to be the leader on the linebacker core. With as many times as Okafor just missed a sack last season, I expect to see a bigger sack total from him this season.

10+ sacks this season for #LifetimeLonghorn Alex Okafor? Bruce Arians thinks so. #HookEm http://t.co/NE0mIpLnjc pic.twitter.com/pcgZwRBIZz

Head coach Bruce Arians said it, a leader. He expects it, I expect it and I’m sure all of you out there are as well. There is no reason why Okafor shouldn’t have double-digit sacks in 2015. With the linebacking core starting to look a little thin, especially at inside linebacker, Okafor needs to take charge. The big thing though, like anyone else, just stay healthy. Please.
