Arizona Cardinals: Sunday morning birdseed
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals take on the New Orleans Saints at 1:05 p.m. at University of Phoenix Stadium
The Arizona Cardinals start the 2015 season today at home against the New Orleans Saints and there are a lot of excited fans and players out there. Twitter is already busy with tweets from fans and players alike. We await official news on who will and won’t play.
Although the official inactives aren’t announced until about 11:30 this morning for the Cardinals, from the sounds of things the Cardinals may get one important player back today. If his tweet is any indication then the Cardinals offense should be getting a boost.
Cardinals wide receiver Michael Floyd tweeted this morning like a guy who sounds like he expects to play. As of Friday he was expected to be a game-time decision. He missed most of training camp and the preseason due to the dislocation of three fingers, which caused him to have surgery.
That’s a lot of excitement for a player. It certainly doesn’t sound like a guy not preparing to play today. Of course again, nothing official yet but it sure sounds positive.
Someone else sounds primed and ready to go as well.
Let’s not leave out the fans either. They are excited and ready to go and not just from inside the United States either.
There’s nothing like football but there’s also nothing like football on opening day. It’s like Christmas for players and fans. Everyone is 0-0. A clean slate for everyone. You can’t erase some of the injuries that have taken place but you can certainly overcome them quickly. Let’s go Birdgang!
