Arizona Cardinals: Kerwynn Williams added to roster, Joseph Fauria released
By Scott Allen

The Arizona Cardinals made a couple of moves on Saturday in preparation for the Chicago Bears
The Arizona Cardinals bolstered their running game for Sunday’s matchup by adding running back Kerwynn Williams to the 53-man roster on Saturday morning. In order to make the move, the Cardinals released tight end Joseph Fauria.
With running back Andre Ellington ruled out for Sunday against the Chicago Bears, this was probably a smart move. Fauria was with the Cardinals for all of a week and a half.
With Ellington out, that left Chris Johnson to start and rookie David Johnson to be his backup. The only other back on the active roster is Stepfan Taylor. Williams had a 100-yard game last season the day after coming off the practice squad. Will lightening strike twice?
As for Fauria, with a healthy Jermaine Gresham, Troy Niklas, and Darren Fells, his release didn’t come as much of a surprise. I guess the real surprise was that he didn’t stay a little longer to see what he could do. It has been a position filled with injury. Fells had a career day last Sunday against the New Orleans Saints with four receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown.

According to Fox Sports 910’s Mike Jurecki, Williams being added to the roster probably means more of him rather than David Johnson.

Williams being added to the roster also could mean that maybe they expect Ellington to miss more than just this week. That would be unfortunate but not devastating. Williams was thought to have made the team by many coming out of the preseason but the team decided on Taylor and only kept four backs.
