Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers: Inactives
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers both announced their inactives for this afternoon’s game
The Arizona Cardinals announced earlier in the day that they would be without running back Andre Ellington once again. That really comes as no surprise as he didn’t practice this week. It is unknown how much more time he will miss.
In the meantime, the Cardinals will be going with the Johnson tandem once again with Chris Johnson and David Johnson. So far the Cards have rushed for 120 yards and 117 respectively in the first two weeks of the season.
Here are the list of inactives for both the Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers.
Arizona inactives:
G Mike Iupati
T D.J. Humphries
RB Andre Ellington
WR J.J. Nelson
LB Shaq Riddick
NT Xavier Williams
QB Matt Barkley
San Francisco inactives:
WR Bruce Ellington
TE Vance McDonald
RB Reggie Bush
CB Shareece Wright
G Brandon Thomas
G Ian Silberman
NT Mike Purcell
Not a good day if you are an Ellington I guess. Bruce Ellington is the cousin of Andre Ellington. Also, not everyone seems happy to be inactive.
Also a bit of a shock that the Cardinals left guard Mike Iupati inactive.
There was hope that Iupati would return to game action this week. He started to practice this week after missing most of training camp. The thought was he would return this week against the 49ers but it appears it is not to be, so hopefully next week against the St. Louis Rams.
Who will be active is Cardinals offensive lineman Bobby Massie. He returns from a two-game suspension for a DUI.
