Arizona Cardinals: Wednesday injury report

The Arizona Cardinals are preparing to face the St. Louis Rams on Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium

The Arizona Cardinals for the most part made it through the game last Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers without much injury.  However come Wednesday at practice, there were still some players not at full strength.

The Cardinals are preparing to play the St. Louis Rams on Sunday at 1:25 p.m. in Glendale.  It remains to be seen if the Cardinals will get a couple of their injured players back.

Arizona injury report:

Did not practice: WR J.J. Nelson (shoulder)

Limited: RB Andre Ellington (knee), G Mike Iupati (knee), WR John Brown (shoulder), LB Alex Okafor (shoulder)

Nelson was injured in the Chicago Bears game and won’t be practicing or playing this week.  He is expected to be out several more weeks.  As for Iupati, no word on his status for Sunday.  He returned to practice just last week and was thought might be a go for the 49ers but was not active.

Okafor injured his shoulder in the game against the 49ers and came out of the game.  He was questionable to return to the game but did eventually re-enter the contest.

As for Ellington, well, wait for Sunday.  He has missed the last two games after getting injured against the New Orleans Saints in the opener.

There you have it.  He’s 50/50.  I’m going to go out on a limb and say he will not be participating in this week’s contest against the Rams.  There should be no rush with the way running backs Chris Johnson and David Johnson have played so far.  We’ll wait for the inactives to be reported around noon on Sunday.
