Arizona Cardinals come into Ravens game a little banged up

The Arizona Cardinals have already ruled out a couple of players for Monday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens

One of the things we talked about, a lot, in the preseason and as the regular season got started, was in order for the Arizona Cardinals to be successful they would need to stay healthy.  Going into Monday night’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, the Cardinals will be a little banged up.

The Cardinals have already ruled out tight end Darren Fells and linebacker Alex Okafor.  Fells was injured in last week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Okafor was hurt in the game at the Detroit Lions a couple of weeks ago but should return in the next couple of weeks.  Fells will be a week-to-week proposition.  The bigger concern for the Cardinals there is who will step up at tight end in place of Fells?

The Cardinals signed tight end Jermaine Gresham in the offseason but he’s been slow to produce nursing injuries himself.  The same can be said for tight end Troy Niklas.  Both will need to step up in Fells absence against the Ravens.

Also nursing a hamstring injury is receiver John Brown.  He is officially listed as questionable for Monday night.

Brown is confident and so is Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians.  The problem is Brown didn’t practice on Friday and was limited on Saturday.  The Cardinals certainly have a lot of other weapons they can use but having Brown would be optimal.  Brown caught 10 passes for 196 yards last week.

Receiver Michael Floyd picked up his production last week for really the first time all season so he could be a guy the Cardinals look to should Brown not be able to go.  However I would be very surprised if Brown doesn’t try to give it a go on Monday night.
