The Arizona Cardinals have dominated the Seattle Seahawks so far

The Arizona Cardinals went three-and-out in their first offensive series.  Since then, the offense has moved the ball well.  As for the Seattle Seahawks, they’ve been stopped by the Cardinals defense so far.

The Cardinals offense was on the field a lot longer than the Seahawks offense was in the first half.  It has lead to a 22-7 Cardinals halftime lead in Seattle.

Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is for 18-27 for 235 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the first half.  His interception happened on a third down in the end zone.  If not for that interception, this lead could be a lot wider.

Cardinals running back Chris Johnson has been stymied for the most part, carrying 13 times for 27 yards.  That has lead to more throwing for Palmer, probably more than they wished but so far the results have been positive.

The Cardinals defense was pitching a shutout until the final two minutes of the half but the Seahawks looked like they were in an urgency mode for the first time all night when they finally got on the scoreboard.  Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw a nice 40-yard pass to receiver Paul Richardson and then got Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu to commit a pass interference to put the ball on the 1-yardline.  Fullback Will Tukuafu put the ball in the end zone on the next play.

Despite the touchdown, the Cardinals have still dominated this game.  The biggest negative has been a couple of injuries the Cardinals have suffered so far.  The most serious was to guard Mike Iupati.  He was taken off in an ambulance early in the second quarter after a hit to the head.  Reports are he has all feeling in his body which is great news.  Defensive tackle Cory Redding was helped off the field on the Lynch touchdown play.

The Cardinals were able to get one more drive in after the Seattle touchdown.  Kicker Chandler Catanzaro his a 43-yard field goal as time expired in the half.  Seahawks will get the ball to start the second half.
