Arizona Cardinals Drew Stanton for the win, Tecmo style (video)

Arizona Cardinals backup quarterback Drew Stanton celebrated Andre Ellington’s touchdown run in style

The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night 39-32.  Cardinals fans everywhere are excited.  Cardinals players are excited but maybe no one more than backup quarterback Drew Stanton.  He pulled off the dance of the century Sunday night.

As Cardinals running back Andre Ellington was scampering 48-yards down the right sideline, Stanton at first did his best third base coach impression followed by a silly-man dance that was for the ages.

Thanks to the folks at RetroSFX (@retroSFXsports), they once again provided us with some awesome musical background to the whole event.  If you remember Tecmo Bowl from the 90’s you are certainly going to love this.  Sure, you’ve seen the dance plenty of times on the internet today but have you seen it in this manner?

I mean not necessarily as just a Cardinals fan but as a fan of football and Tecmo Bowl, you have to appreciate the work that went into this piece.  It certainly brings back memories of a game I’m sure many of you spent hours on.  I know I did when I was in college.

The thing I love most about the Stanton dance though is the fact he is having fun.  I love that even though he was never in the game, he was full helmet and all dancing his way up and down the sideline on the touchdown run.  He was 100 percent committed to the game.

When you are on national television, nothing gets missed.  When I watched this move live last night I never thought it would turn into the viral sensation it is 24 hours later.  It makes the victory even that much sweeter.
