Arizona Cardinals vs Seattle Seahawks inactives
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks have announced their inactives for today’s game
Both the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks have announced their inactive players for this afternoon’s game at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. The Cardinals will be missing a couple of key defensive players on Sunday while the Seahawks are minus several key offensive players.
Arizona Cardinals inactives:
LB Markus Golden
DT Josh Mauro
QB Matt Barkley
T D.J. Humphries
NT Xavier Williams
LB Shaq Riddick
CB Corey White
Seattle Seahawks inactives:
RB Marshawn Lynch
TE Luke Willson
G J.R. Sweazy
T Russell Okung
CB Tye Smith
S Kam Chancellor
DT A.J. Francis
The loss of Golden for the Cardinals we knew was coming. He was the only one all week that had looked doubtful because of a knee injury. He did not practice all week. The same can be said for Mauro. He never practiced all week. For a team that came out of the game last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers unscathed for the most part, they still had 16 players on their Friday injury report.
As for the Seahawks, they announced early in the week that Lynch would not play. He is likely to return to practice on Monday. Willson is also a tough no-go for them. He has given the Cardinals fits in the past.
They are also missing Kam Chancellor. It is a big loss in terms of one game but in terms of the playoffs, it is probably the best move to hold him out. The Seahawks will be the fifth or sixth seed in the playoffs, so they are on the road regardless, so it is easier for them to hold guys out.
As for the Cardinals, D.J. Humphries is inactive, meaning the first round draft pick for the Cardinals was not active in a single game this season. You have to wonder if the Cardinals move away from his development in the offseason and move him.
