The Arizona Cardinals struggled at times, shined at times on both sides of the ball in the overtime victory over the Green Bay Packers

The way this one was going Saturday night for awhile, it was going to be a little more difficult to find who deserved game balls for the Arizona Cardinals.  It would be done but the fourth quarter and the overtime periods helped seal the deal for the three game balls.

Larry Fitzgerald

Fitz had a game for the ages.  Actually if you just watched the first half of Saturday night’s game, you’d think I was crazy for saying that.  He only had one catch for six yards in the first half.  Then, Fitz went to work.

Fitz ended the evening with eight receptions for 176 yards and a touchdown.  The guy is destined for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  And to think some people didn’t believe Fitz deserved a contract extension after last season.  I won’t say I told you all so, but…I told you he deserved it.

Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer found a wide-open Fitz across the field on the first play of overtime but then Fitz finished off the play 75-yards down the field just shy of the end zone.  It was shades of the Super Bowl all over again.  Two plays later, Fitz was in the end zone for the game winner.

Fitz set a NFL record with his third career 150+ yard game in the postseason.  That is the most in the Super Bowl era.
