The Arizona Cardinals will be hosting a rally on Saturday at Sky Harbor Airport as the team departs for Charlotte
The Arizona Cardinals going to Charlotte to take on the Carolina Panthers must be a big deal. I mean, it is the NFC Championship game after all. To send the team off in style, there will be a “Big Red Send Off” at the Sky Train at Terminal 3 of Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport.
There will be speakers at the event which include Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians. Also speaking will be team president Michael Bidwill along with U.S. Senator John McCain, Governor Doug Doucey, and Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton. Of course, the team cheerleaders will be there with the mascot Big Red as well.
It is nice that the city is willing to allow this type of an event at the airport itself. Of course you will also have to deal with the regular parking prices at the airport should you choose to go. There is no cost for the event itself however I would suggest going early. There is bound to be a lot of people there. The interest in this game around the city, in case you haven’t noticed or have been living under a rock, is sky-high.
Gates will open at 9 a.m. but the event is not slated to start until 10 a.m. I would suggest you be already there when the gates open. That will allow you time to find parking because don’t forget, there will be people there not for the Cardinals event but to actually fly somewhere.
This little tidbit to share as well. Bring almost nothing with you as they are going to allow very little in. Just what they terms a “clutch” bag is all they will allow. No camera bags, computer bags, fanny packs or anything of that nature will be allowed. No banners, no flags…so basically what you are used to as if you were going to a Cardinals game. Get it?
If you go, have fun! Let us know though if you do make it out. I would love to hear fans reactions to the event. Go Cardinals!
