One of the much improved areas for the Arizona Cardinals in 2015 was the running game
The Arizona Cardinals had a very hard time running the ball in the 2014 season. Â They only had one 100-yard rusher for the season. Â That was a guy named Kerwynn Williams who had come off the practice squad just one day earlier.
The tune in the 2015 season was much different. Â Newcomers Chris Johnson and David Johnson took over and put the Cardinals running game back on the map. Â They were a nice addition given the injury difficulties of Andre Ellington, who saw his injuries continue to pose a concern in 2015.
Here is a look back at the Cardinals running backs for 2015 and what their future may hold.

Chris Johnson
Johnson was on track for a Pro Bowl season until it was derailed with an injury in November. Â He found the Fountain of Youth and regained a lot of what people saw from him in his early years with the Tennessee Titans.
In just 11 games and nine starts, Johnson rushed for 814 yards. Â He scored just three touchdowns but that was mainly due to the fact others were getting the ball inside the five and 10 yard lines. Â However he had a 4.2 yard-per-carry average in 2015. Â His longest rush was 62 yards.
His 2015 season though, as stated previously, was derailed by injury. Â There was a chance he could return for the Super Bowl but we never got to see that come to fruition. Â Hopefully it was not the last we see of Johnson.
He was playing on a one-year contract. Â If you talk to fans they are mixed on what the Cardinals should do. Â While the Cardinals have young talent there is no denying what Johnson did in 2015. I can see the Cardinals re-signing him to another one-year contract and splitting time on the field with David Johnson.
